The highly anticipated One Punch Man Season 3 is steadily moving forward, with high expectations set upon J.C. Staff, the studio which previously animated Season 2. As 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the anime, the production team is working hard to ensure that this milestone season delivers the quality that the beloved series deserves.
In a recent interview posted on the studio’s official website, One Punch Man Season 3 producer Atsushi Fujishiro acknowledged the immense anticipation and expectations for the upcoming season. “Preparations for One Punch Man Season 3 are steadily progressing. It’s a completely different kind of project compared to the April season anime [J.C. Staff is working on the anime adaptation of Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Hold Up? (No, It Can’t!!)], but it’s also a popular title, and we know expectations are high. We’re working hard to make sure we don’t let those expectations down.”
With such a well-loved series, the pressure to deliver a more-than-solid adaptation is obviously clear, and the production team is making every effort to live up to the hype. This is especially true considering the show’s first season by MADHOUSE and the high bar it set.
J.C. Staff, which took over the animation of One Punch Man in Season 2, is handling the third season as well. The studio has Tomohiro Suzuki in charge of series composition, Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, and Ryosuke Shirakawa working on character design, and Makoto Miyazaki composing the music.

One Punch Man Anime Releases Season 1 and Season 2 Creditless Openings and Endings
The first teaser trailer and character visuals for Saitama, Genos, King, Fubuki, Bang, Tatsumaki, Atomic Samurai, Pig God, Puri-Puri Prisoner and Handsome Kamen Amai Mask were released, slowly building excitement for the sequel over the months.
As part of the anime’s 10th-anniversary celebrations, multiple projects are planned throughout 2025. One of the projects includes the One Punch Man Magic Music Festival, which will be held on September 14 at the Nerima Cultural Center in Tokyo.
It will feature live performances of opening and ending theme songs from the anime, a special live concert of the anime’s background music, and a live voice-acting event with cast members. The performers will be:

- Hiroko Moriguchi
- Makoto Miyazaki (music composer)
- Makoto Furukawa (Saitama)
- Kaito Ishikawa (Genos)
- Hikaru Midorikawa (Garo)
The story in Season 3 will focus on the Hero Hunter arc, following the rise of Garo and his new battle against the Hero Association.
The One Punch Man franchise has come a long way since its origins as a webcomic created by ONE in 2009. The series later received a digital manga remake illustrated by Yusuke Murata, which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump since 2012. Viz Media licensed the manga in English, and it has since gained a massive global following.
The anime adaptation began in 2015 with MADHOUSE animating the first season under director Shingo Natsume. The debut season was praised for its incredible animation and fight sequences. J.C. Staff then took over for Season 2 in 2019, with Chikara Sakurai directing.
As the release of One Punch Man Season 3 draws closer, all eyes are on J.C. Staff to see how they will bring the Hero Hunter arc to life. Fans will probably be happy to know that the studio is fully aware of the high expectations, and that they are working on living up to them.
